“Barry was tasked with turning a document that had ballooned to more than 100 pages, into two useful documents that could be easily read by distinct audiences. The original content was complex, filled by jargon, repetition, and inconsistencies.
The purpose of the new documents was to explain the professional policies, training requirements, accreditation process, rules and regulations of a professional association and industry body.
To create the two output documents, Barry was required to interpret the original document, validate the industry language, and resolve the conflicting statements while creating key marketing messages to support the information relevant to the two audiences.
Barry’s ability to synthesise the information from the original source document and turn it into two, succinct documents was fantastic.
The output documents were easily understood by the intended audiences, and they supported the broader engagement strategy with the association’s members.
His approach to this complex and daunting task was to actively engage with all stakeholders and then test assumptions and hypotheses about the intention of the document.
The resulting two documents, each 35 pages, were extremely well crafted and have streamlined the communication of the new industry standards, accreditation process and professional standards for the association."
